Host verification
Before any property goes live we verify:
- Tanzanian Tax Identification Number (TIN) on the business or owner.
- Business or tourism licence where applicable.
- Government-issued ID for the host.
- Phone and email confirmation.
- Spot-checks on listing photos and amenity claims.
Payment security
We're PCI-DSS SAQ A — your card never hits our servers. Mobile money runs through licensed Tanzanian aggregators with end-to-end encryption.
Privacy by default
We collect only what's needed to run a booking. Your contact data is never sold and is shared with the host only after a confirmed reservation.
Reporting & moderation
One-tap reporting on every listing and message. We act on every report within 24 hours.
Real reviews only
Reviews are restricted to guests who actually stayed. We remove fake or incentivised reviews and inform the public.
Community guidelines
Hosts and guests on BookmyStay agree to:
- Treat each other with respect — no discrimination on race, religion, nationality, gender, sexuality, or age.
- Keep listings honest — accurate photos, prices, location and rules.
- Honor confirmed bookings — except in cases covered by our cancellation policy.
- No off-platform payments — protect yourself by paying inside BookmyStay.
- Comply with Tanzanian law and any local regulations on tourism, taxation and short-term lets.
