Searching & booking
Find stays, set dates, reserve rooms.
How do I book?
Search a city and dates, pick a property, click "Reserve now". You won't be charged until the host confirms (or until you complete payment, depending on the property).
Do I need an account?
Yes — accounts let us send you a receipt and contact you if there's an issue with your stay. Sign up takes under a minute.
Can I message the host before booking?
Yes, after creating an account go to the property page and use the "Contact host" link.
What if my dates aren't available?
Try the calendar on the property page or use the search filters to find similar stays nearby.
Payments & refunds
Mobile money, cards, refund timing.
What payment methods are accepted?
M-Pesa, Tigo Pesa, Airtel Money, HaloPesa, Visa, Mastercard, and pay-on-arrival (cash) — selectable at checkout.
When am I charged?
For pay-now methods (mobile money, card) you're charged immediately and your booking is confirmed. For pay-on-arrival, you settle in cash at the front desk.
How quickly do refunds arrive?
Mobile money: 1–3 business days. Cards: 5–10 business days, depending on your bank.
Are prices in TZS or USD?
Stored in TZS. Use the currency switcher in the header to display prices in your preferred currency.

Where do I see my bookings?
After signing in, click your avatar → My Bookings. Past, upcoming and pending stays are all listed there.
Can I cancel a booking?
Yes — see our cancellation policy. Free cancellation is available 7 days or more before check-in for confirmed bookings.
How do I get directions?
On any booking receipt, tap "Get directions" to open the location in Google Maps.
Can I share my receipt?
Every booking has a public receipt URL — share via WhatsApp, SMS or email from the receipt page.
For hosts
List property, accept bookings, payouts.
How do I list my property?
Sign up as an Owner from the registration page. Our team reviews each new property within 24–48 hours.
What are your fees?
BookmyStay charges around 8% per booking — well below international platforms. Mobile money payouts are free; bank transfers may incur a small fee.
When do I get paid?
Payouts are processed bi-weekly, or on demand for verified hosts. View your balance under Owner → Payouts.
Can I block dates manually?
Yes — open your property in the Owner dashboard and use the calendar to block dates or override prices.
